Webinar: “Women Sports Journalists: A Global Assessment”

Webinar: “Women Sports Journalists: A Global Assessment”

Please join us on Thursday, March 18, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm Washington DC time for a webinar focusing on women sports journalists, from all over the world, and the progress being made in women sports participation.

It is a webinar for women and men alike, it is ultimately about our societies, about equality and opportunity for all. Women in sports defy gender stereotypes and social norms, make inspiring role models, and show men and women as equals. Still, there are challenges concerning the practical side of equality and difference between men and women in sports, some financial, others cultural.

The best equipped to observe and capture those shifts and their cultural context and societal implications are women sports journalists who have followed a similar professional trajectory, entering a field that has been historically dominated by men. Our webinar will capture, through the eyes of women journalists, from different parts of the world, the positive changes that have occurred, the challenges that remain, and what the future holds for women sports journalists as well as women athletes, coaches, and sports leaders, in a variety of contexts, geographic, political, and social.

Join us on Thursday, March 18, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm Washington DC (calculate your time here https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html) to explore the world we live in, using sports as a metaphor for change.
