DCN SE Hub, Digital Communication Network and World Learning are organizing, via Zoom, the webinar « Managing Identifiers & DNS Security in an Insecure World », which will take place in 13th of May at 17:00 (Athens Time).
As attacks on Internet infrastructure and popular domains continues to grow, it is important to have an understanding of the Domain Name System. This talk provides a brief overview of Internet identifiers and puts those identifiers in context with the issue of DNS privacy, recent attacks, the and the current COVID-19 pandemic. The talk will touch on the development of new protocols such as DNS over TLS and DNS over HTTPS, which enhance privacy protections but also change the landscape for various stakeholders.

Patrick L. Jones is an invited participant from ICANN technical staff in the Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC) and represents ICANN at the UN Group of Experts on Geographic Names (UNGEGN). He regularly speaks at regional Internet and DNS events on security, privacy and technology issues.
