Webinar Announcement: Mind Assist. The story of former WNBA Star Chamique Holdsclaw

DCN SE HubDigital Communication Network and World Learning are organizing, via Zoom, the webinar « Mind Assist. The story of former WNBA Star Chamique Holdsclaw », which will take place in the 21st of May at 17:30 (Athens Time).

The focusing point of this webinar is the life of one of the best female basketball players, Chamique Holdsclaw. Her story is an example of the importance of sharing our experiences and seeking help. She will discuss the challenges faced by millions of people and families dealing with similar issues and how crucial help is for mental illnesses. Chamique has won a variety of awards during her career, but as she said “when I was at my best, I didn’t want to be. I didn’t know who I was then. I do now”, showcasing the importance of facing the challenges in our lives and sharing our experiences with the world.

Depression and bipolar disorder derailed her career and personal development but Chamique was able to rebound, as well as she was doing on the basketball court, and give her life new meaning and purpose. Chamique Holdsclaw is now a mental health advocate and the subject of a documentary film “Mind/Game: The Unquiet Journey of Chamique Holdsclaw.” It tells the story of a WNBA All-Star’s experience with mental illness.
