“Combating Disinformation: Training Refugees to become Fact-checkers” is a project granted by “Together, Moving Forward – Students and Refugees uniting for inclusion in society and education”, which is part of the European Students’ Union (ESU).
During the project, Peace Journalism Laboratory and Digital Communication Network SEE Hub organized three online trainings aiming to inform the participants and present them the most common free tools used In order to tackle disinformation and misinformation.
During the trainings, the participants had the opportunity to learn from experts and to express their thoughts and experiences as regards fake news and its impact on online and offline communities. At the end of each training, tasks were given to the trainees’ to test the knowledge and skills obtained.
1st training
The first training was held on the 6th of March 2021, where the refugees were trained in “Journalism and Media True Content” and, “Image and Video verification techniques”.
