Research program CSIS Practicum in Modern Journalism: Reporting on International Affairs

The program aims to provide journalism students with a practical experience multimedia reporting of international affairs in a changing media landscape.
The program leverages CSIS’ unique strengths as a digital-first think tank to help prepare the next generation for contemporary policy communication and reporting. This initiative, the first of its kind, will place students at the intersection of journalism and policy research, and equip them with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to succeed in today’s international reporting environment.
Through this program, students are trained in producing and covering global affairs news stories via multimedia journalism.
At the end of this program, students will be qualified to:
• Follow the interdisciplinary topics of foreign policy and global affairs
• Comprehend scientific methods and basic methodological approaches in covering global affairs and international politics stories
• Apply new technologies and multimedia in reporting global stories
The students are working under the guidance of journalists and scholars for a period of three months.
This significant program is being realized with the funding of Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) and the contribution of the Center of Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
